Connecting To Your Non-CMS Cyber Sprocket Site

If you are NOT using our Content Management System to manage your site, you will want to have direct access to your web space in order to upload your own content, programs, etc.

What You Need To Connect

  • The IP Address we have assigned to your website, typically 72.52.158.193
  • Your username
  • Your password
  • A FTP or Secure FTP (SFTP) client.

Connecting Before Your Domain Is "Ready"

You can still get to your web space on our server before your domain name is directed to our server. This is useful for clients that may have an existing site that needs to stay online while we develop your new site. People that surf to your website will go to the old server with your existing content while we perfect your new "home" on the web.

The host name you will connect to is: host.cybersprocket.com/~<username>

Example - if your username is "cyberman" you can:

You must connect using the web space NAME, not the IP address. Your site at Cyber Sprocket is on a shared server. If you connect directly to the IP address you will end up at the first site on the list, normally www.cybersprocket.com.

Connecting After You Have "moved"

You can surf to you site or connect with FTP by going to http://<yourdomain>/ or ftp://<yourdomain>
