What Is A Content Management System?

A Content Management System (CMS) is a program that lets you edit your website using nothing more than your web browser. You don't need to know any special techno-speak like HTML, JavaScript, Web 2.0 or any other mumbo jumbo.

The CMS program takes care of the magic. You take care of the content.

How Does A Content Management System Work?

To keep things simple, we handle all the "heavy lifting". You only need to know what you want to say and how you want things to look.

The Look

The only thing we need from you is a general idea on the website style. Do you want your logo on the top left or top right? Where do you want your menus; do you prefer them across the top or down the side? What colors do you want?

Cyber Sprocket will create a "theme", a.k.a. the template, for your site. This is the look and feel of the site. The background, the colors, and where the main text of your site will appear on the pages.

The Content

Once the look has been created, you manage your own content. Adding and removing pages, updating paragraphs and more. For full details see the CMS User's Guide.
