Labs Projects – Our Process
Whether you’re building a vast social networking portal with web-based access and multi-platform client software or a five-page informational website for your new business, the process we follow to successfully execute projects fits the same guidelines. It starts with a broad discussion about your goals. What is the business plan? Who is the target audience? What is the platform? From there, we will drill down into the mission critical requirements for an initial release.
Our team of experts will discuss what potential issues may arise and do in-depth research on software and concepts related to your project. We’ll then prepare a detailed proposal outlining deliverables and conveying our understanding of the project. Once the project is awarded we’ll document the system and design data structures, interface wireframes, and process flows. This stage is crucial. A well-designed and documented system is more efficient, scalable, and secure. System architecture also acts as a guideline to ensure that the finished product will be exactly what you need, and exactly what we quoted.
Larger systems may be broken into milestones which help you to gauge our progress and to keep the project on target. Our development team works together collaboratively, testing colleagues’ work often and assessing the efficiency of all logic structures.
Regular communication between development teams, project managers, and the client is vital for the project’s health and to make sure questions from both sides are addressed rapidly.
Before the public launch of your application our team tests thoroughly for bugs and usability. For more complex systems there is often a “soft launch” period where your software is released to a select group for trial. After launch, our staff is available to answer questions and address any new issues that arise. Ongoing projects will have live, staging, and development releases or servers so that new features can be properly tested and debugged without affecting the active system.
We work on every project as if it were our own, and take a vested interest in its success. Our clients value our attention to detail and that we proactively anticipate how users will interact with the product. Software development is an art form — each task can be done many ways, both good and bad. Cyber Sprocket Labs developers approach problems with this in mind. Our goal is to make great technology that works intuitively. We look forward to building great things for you!
